Note: If you are starting with this lesson and are not using the lessons in order, you must first import the correct libraries archive found in the lesson folder. In the preferences panel under ‘Diagnostics’ click the ‘Import Libraries’ button and choose ‘library-lesson-5.phxlib

1. Create Sheet Center/Edge Mark with 5 Instances

Step 1 Open Marks Wizard

Step 2 – Select “Registration” in Mark Type list

Step 3 – Select “Smart Mark” under Mark Placement Type to make a rule-based color bar.

Step 4 – Select “Sheet” under Anchor to create a mark based off of Sheet coordinates

Step 5 – Click “Continue”

Step 6 Select cross registration type, second from left on the top row under Standard Registration Marks

Step 7 – Click “Continue”

Step 8 – Enter “25mm” for Width and enter “6mm” for Height under Mark Settings

Step 9 – Click “Continue” twice to get to Set Mark Name and Placement page

Step 10 – Enter “SHEET_EDGE_CNR” in Name/Folder -> Name field

Step 11 – Under Reference Point Selection click on ‘R’ square and drag center of square intolower-left edge of larger square

Step 12 - Set Y position offset to 12mm” in Position section.

This will line up the center of the cross mark with the Gripper on the press

Step 13 –Click on the ‘+’ button under the rules table to add a second placement rule for the rightedge of the sheet and move Reference Point Selection so ‘R’ square center point is on the lower- right edge of larger square.

Step 14 - Set Y position offset to “12mm” in Position section.

Step 15 – Click on the ‘+’ button under the rules table to add a third placement rule for the top leftcorner of the sheet and move Reference Point Selection so ‘R’ square center point is on the top- left point of larger square.

Keep formulas at 0mm to place the mark exactly in the top-left corner of the sheet

Step 16 – Click on the ‘+’ button under the rules table to add a fourth placement rule for the top right corner of the sheet and move Reference Point Selection so ‘R’ square center point is on the top-right point of larger square.

Keep formulas at 0mm to place the mark exactly in the top-right corner of the sheet

Step 17 –Click on the ‘+’ button under the rules table to add the fifth placement rule for the topcenter of the sheet and move Reference Point Selection so ‘R’ square center point is on the top- center point of larger square.

Step 18 Click on the Rotation dropdown box and select 90 degrees.
This will rotate the mark in place so the longer width will be vertical in the top center of the sheet.

Step 19 – Click “Done” to create the new mark

2. Apply Sheet Center/Edge Mark

Step 1 Scroll to the bottom of the Marks panel and drag newly created “SHEET_EDGE_CNR”mark into the Artboard.
